True Leader
Distinguish Borderless Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita is true definition of a true leader. What happened yesterday in Kano affirmed to me that Sen. ABK is a man of his words, true leader and gentleman per excellence.
Yesterday, we went to Dala Orthopedic Hospital Kano with enthusiasm that the 1.1million naira we raised will be enough to save the life of Abdulbasiru Dutsin-Ma (a spinal injury patient) who was sick for many months.
The Doctor review his file and sent us to AKTH for MRI and Xray. The first charge was N61,500. When we brought the results to the Dr, he said, Mallam Abdulbasiru need three type of surgeries:
The first is the spinal injury surgery which will cost, N1.2million.
The second is surgery on his broken right hand which will cost, N600,000
The last is plastic surgery on his buttock to cover a deep wond of bed scores, which will cost N680,000.
The cost of surgery shocked all of us and we decide to leave Kano for Dutsin-Ma to prepare for the new cost.
I made a Facebook post soliciting for an assistance and instantly Sen. ABK commented "Ba haka mukayi dakai ba Ibrahim, Nace duk abinda ake nema ciko kayi mani magana zani chika" Meaning, this is not our agreement Ibrahim, we agree that anything that happened in Kano you should contact me, I will balance the cost. He immediately follow the comment with call, telling me the same. I apologized and deleted the post on Facebook Immediately and instructed a friend driving us to take a U-turn and return to the hospital.
I called the Doctor to informs him that we are ready for the surgery. The Dr said, we should meet him at his house. When we reached his house, he give us a long list of medical tests and drugs. The cost of the pre-surgical test was N15,400 while we purchased all the recommended drugs at the cost of N170,000
Today, they will perform the surgery by 4pm, In Shaa Allah. We need your prayers for the success of the surgery.
